It's time to renew your membership. Please send in your dues so we can issue you your 2012 membership card. Anyone sending in their renewal before Dec 31 will automatically be entered into our Early Bird Renewal Contest for a chance to win a $20 prize. Membership cards will be distributed at the Christmas Breakfast and by mail to those not attending the breakfast.
Temporary Location for January and February Lancaster breakfast. Hershey Farm will be closed in January and February so we will have our breakfast at the Bob Evans Restaurant on Rt 30 just West of Rt 896. We will use the room at the front of the restaurant and we will be ordering off of the menu. Hope to see you there around 8:30 or 9:00. Our Winter banquet will be held at Yoder's Banquet and Conference Center in New Holland. I apologize for the inconvenience but unforseen circumstances have made the change necessary. See the Flyers page or the Events page for details. The rally planning meeting will also be held at Yoder's prior to the banquet.

Eastern PA Retreads Online Photo Albums.
Retreads, Earlier this year I received several requests to establish an online photo album for the Eastern PA Retreads. I opened a photo page on Picasa and started several albums. I made the albums private, they could only be accessed by a special link that I sent to the members. This did not work out very well so I took a poll to see if many members objected to the albums being made public. The majority vote was to make them public. As of now the albums are public. You can use the link below to view them and you can bookmark the page now. For your privacy I will not identify anyone in the photos by name and if I ever post a photo of you that you don't want on the site just let me know and I'll remove you. Thank you, here's the link to the albums. PHOTOS

The Western PA Mid Winter Banquet will be held February 4, 2102. See the flyer on the EVENTS or FLYERS page for details.
The Hoots are setting up our annual Retreads Night at the Ball Game for 2012. It will be Wednesday July 4 at the Allentown Iron Pigs. Fireworks after the game. Details TBA.
Members who travel with a trailer behind thier motorcycles have been overcharged on the PA Turnpike. You should not be charged extra for towing a trailer behind a bike but the sensors at the toll booths see the third axle and make the extra charge. When the rider asks the toll taker to remove the extra charge they say they can't do it. Brenda Hoot contacted her state rep who looked into the matter and recieved an answer from the Turnpike Commission. Copies of the letters explaing what to do are posted on the Flyers page. You can go there or click here to read the letters. If you travel the turnpike with a trailer you should print the letters and take them with you. You may also want to obtain a motorcycle E-ZPass . You get a 25% discount and don't have to fumble for money at the toll booth. It works on almost all the toll roads and bridges east of the Mississippi. Call 1-877-736-6727 for a motorcycle E-ZPass.
2013 International Rally. It's a long way off but the dates and location for the 2013 International Rally have been set. It will be held in Niagara Falls, Canada, Sept 9 - 12, 2013.
The host hotel is The Americana Resort and Convention Center . The Retreads rate is $119 per night double occupancy. They are taking reservations now at 800-263-3508, be sure to tell them you are booking for the 2013 International Retreads Rally, that is bhow they list it on their computer. The hotel is along the shuttle bus route that runs to all the major attractions in the Falls Area. There is a link to the info sheet on the FLYERS page, or click here. Info .

What would you like to do this year? This is your club and we want your ideas for activities. We have already received a few new ideas that we are working on and we would be happy to have more. We especially want to hear from the members who live on the fringes of our area. We would like to know what we can do to get all of our members more involved in the club's activities, so please contact us with your ideas.
If you are enjoying the electronic newsletter and would be willing to stop receiving the paper newsletter please inform me or the Hoots and we will delete you from the paper mailing list. This will save the club money and make the editor’s job easier for the Boetner’s. Do not send your request to the Boetner's, they do not maintain the mailing list. If you want to continue to receive the paper newsletter you don’t have to do anything, no one will be deleted from the list if they do not ask to be. You may resume the paper newsletter at any time, just let us know. You can receive the paper newsletter and still be on the list to be notified when the new newesletter is available on our website just tell us what you want. If you asked to be removed and are still receiving the paper newsletter please remind us. Thank you.
